EVENTS and PROJECTS
Beverly History Interpretive Centre Hours
We are open to the public:
- Every second weekend of every month — 11 am to 3 pm
Welcome to our Events and Projects page with our Calendar of Events listings. During the year we’ll be adding exciting and interesting events when confirmed and have the details confirmed.
Each event held is aimed at instilling pride in the community of Beverly and also to serve as a welcome to our many visitors throughout the year.
Remembrance Day Ceremony – November 11
The ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. with a non-denominational service at the Maranatha Christian Reform Church at 11905 47 Street NW. At 10:20 a.m. the parade leaves the church and marches down 118 Avenue to the Cenotaph where the service continues and wreaths are laid.
Remembrance Day Ceremony — School Children
This is usually held a day or two prior to Remembrance Day. The Beverly Cenotaph is the oldest memorial cenotaph in Alberta. The children learn about the sacrifices the soldiers of Beverly made during the wars. Children/schools are asked to participate by saying a prayer, reciting a poem and laying wreaths. Attendees are offered hot chocolate following the service. For information: beverlyhistoricalsociety@gmail.com
Historical Horse Drawn Carriage Tours
These tours are held each year at the beginning of July during the “Historic Festival Doors Open”. Each carriage ride lasts about 55 minutes and takes you through either north or south Beverly, and starts at the Beverly Cenotaph. Reservations can be made by phoning 780-413-6244. Please reserve early as these tours are very popular and fill up fast.
